Public safety professionals represent the community, they serve everyone in their cities and towns where they work. In carrying out their duties, these employees come into contact with a wide variety of people and get involved in many difficult situations.
These officers are extensively trained to face the challenges of the situations in which they find themselves. They know how to deal with the details that are part of their daily lives, but they also occasionally encounter circumstances that challenge them mentally and emotionally.
Not all members of an organization believe the same thing, but public safety chaplains are a team dedicated to providing emotional and spiritual support to all law enforcement officers, their families and retirees.
Public safety chaplains are trained, qualified and committed to ministering to all people, regardless of their religious beliefs and always respecting the beliefs of those they serve. In recognition of the cultural and religious diversity within the departments, public safety chaplains have been trained to administer spiritual and emotional care to police, fire and security department employees, their families and retirees.
Volunteers or chaplain staff also serve citizens while assisting public safety personnel in stressful situations involving trauma, serious injury, or death.
